    • Longevity. Founded in 1980, we've been around for 28 years and our senior technicians offer more than a quarter-century of telemanagement experience. Many customers of SDT have owned at least one of our competitors systems in the past. While many outgrew their old system, others were forced to re-invest because their vendors went out of business or stopped support and development. Our experiences and strong corporate financials give our customers peace of mind today, as well as tomorrow.

    Our History


    SDT, Inc. Strategic Data & Telecom was originally founded in 1980 as a consulting firm concentrating on telecom applications.  Initial projects required expertise in automated reasoning solutions for determining telephone traffic load and workforce optimization resulting in smarter call center management.

    By 1984, SDT had expanded to OEM call accounting systems for major PBX manufacturers and regional Bell operating companies with particular emphasis on inbound call processing, management, and reporting. 

    In 1985, we introduced our flagship call accounting software product, Call View for DOS, capable of simultaneously processing multiple independent data streams and 200,000 calls a day. That's why Chicago Board of Trade and high volume brokerages on Wall Street turned to Call View after extensively testing the competition. 

    Major product upgrades continued, and in 1996 Call View for Windows was released, the first true 32-bit Windows call accounting package in the industry. Strategic modules that followed were designed with sales and marketing people in mind and simply revolutionized the call accounting industry. 

    In 1998 Version 3 of Call View for Windows 95+/ NT was packaged for a major OEM distributor winning Teleconnect's 1998 Editors Choice Award. Version 4 was successfully released in Jan 1, 1999 with new versions released every quarter.  Today there are over 6,000 Call View customers world wide. 

    In Dec. 2000, the Apogee call accounting systems product line was successfully launched featuring a robust SQL Server database, revamped interface, and improved report generator. The system successfully passed vigorous beta testing for a Wall Street brokerage house processing over 200,000 calls a day - and with over five years of on-line data available for ad hoc reporting to the SEC in a New York minute.

    In recent years,  Apogee has been packaged for additional OEM distributors and sold under private labels.  In August of 2003, Apogee won Communications Convergence magazine Editor's Choice Award.  

    SDT is a privately held, management-owned company.
