Reconciling Call Records From Remote Sites Outside of the United States

One of Apogee's unique features is its ability to modify a variety of call record parameters in real-time according to user defined definitions.  A simple example demonstrating the powerful capability that Call Translation can offer for reconciling phone numbers from remote locations outside of the United States will be illustrated here.  Image that a company has a corporate headquarters in one state and branches in other states or countries. Remotely polled call records (via buffer or network) collected from offices outside of the United States often cause a typical, US-based multi-site call accounting system to incorrectly interpret calls that are dialed without an explicit area code or country code from remote locations.

Below is an example of a company with corporate headquarters in Utah, a manufacturing plant in Mexico, and a supplier in California.  To save costs, all long distance calls from remote sites are physically routed through the corporate offices in Utah, but local calls from remote offices are routed through local facilities.  Thus, local call records from the remote sites must appear to originate from the remote sites, but long distance calls from the remote sites must appear to originate from corporate headquarters.

	A call made from a manufacturing plant in the Maquiadora region of Mexico to a supplier in California is routed through corporate headquarters in Utah.
	By examining the ten digit number dialed, the proper price and destination are assigned to the call - just as thuogh it originated from Utah.
	But calls are also often made from the manufacturing plant in Mexico to local numbers in Mexico.
	However, the phone system in Utah incorrectly records the local Mexican calls as Utah local calls.

The seven digit calls would be identified as shown here. Our unique Call Translation feature allows the Mexican local calls to appear as local calls in Mexico, with the correct Mexican city name, rather than being assigned names of cities in Utah.
With Call Translation calls will be correctly identified as local calls from Mexico.
